Talk Tuesday

News for the week

1. I thought son was done playing football. They did not make the playoff because they lost an important game but low and behold one of the teams in the league had to give up their title so that bumped us up if we won this last game…….we won by a touchdown. So we are now in the playoffs. I had just put his raggedy practice pants in the trash can I had to go and dig it out I am proud of son and his team. They are one of the littlest teams  in the league because most our boys look like 4 yr olds (most are 6 and 7) but what we lack in size we make up with in being smart and playing a good game. Our coaches are off the chain but sons head coach I must give it to him he fights for his boys win or lose and I do mean fight he will put his paws on the referee you mess with his boys.  Congrats to the Jets I hate the football life but I am proud of them for doing what they do. Here are a few pictures from the season.

2. Nanny Killings ~ This story just broke my heart. If you could afford to hire a nanny would you? I would not I would prefer family and friends to help or put the kids in a preschool/daycare. I don’t know why people feel they have to hurt the kids if you have a problem with yourself or with someone why take it out on innocent kids. I heard of a similar story a couple of years ago where a nanny killed kids because she was jealous of her employers and she could not have kids of her own. She tried to make the kids call her mom when their mom was not around and when the kids would not do it she would beat them until she beat them to death. I don’t know what happened in this case but I am praying for the family this is something I would not wish on my worse enemy.

3. I decided to switch cable companies the other day I put my foot down with the hubs and told him we are getting rid of Comcast. I have had Comcast since I came to Atlanta over 10 years ago. I have been a loyal customer and for the most part I hardly  had any problems with my cable itself the only problem I had was the bill. Now my bill was decent because we bundled everything so we were paying 180 for everything (phone, internet, and cable) but since my car notes are finishing up I figured why not save money all the way around and go with direct tv for 2 years see how they are. I hate change but I do try it from time to time. Hubs was not a happy camper until he found out about the sports package…..his tune quickly changed but he still reminds me that Comcast is still better and we are going back after the 2 years. The new bill for cable 60 bucks and we get the same amount of channels we were getting with Comcast. Now before you go crazy I still have Comcast internet and house phone I could not go all the way cold turkey because Comcast cable is still better than AT&T. So far……I want my Comcast back the channels are easier to understand and it does not blink in and out. *crying*

I want to get rid of Comcast too… or at least downsize a bit. We have a internet/tv bundle. But I watch most of what I want on the ipad so I could save some money by getting rid of the extended cable. But I couldnt do Dish though. Like you mention, the sporatic, wheather determinent service I couldnt get used to.

  2. That Nanny Killing had me messed up! I could not imagine! I like to use family or friends. Mr keeps P when I have somewhere to go. I am blessed to have my mom that is retired!

Great pictures Kita, LaShawn is wearing off on all of us! It’s sad that people hurt children, period. Everyday it’s something on TV or internet where people have hurt or killed an innocent child. We changed from AT&T U-Verse to Time Warner cable because of the price. I can’t stand it, it’s too slow and the TV service really sucks.

Men and their sports! LOL! My husband got rid of Comcast for the sports package Direct TV offers. Direct TV is cheaper and we do get more channels, but I agree it was so much easier to navigate with Comcast.

  5. The nanny killings messed me up. Especially since I always have getting a part time nanny in the back of my mind!
I hate Comcast, and I just deal with Direct TV because that’s my only alternative. However, I do agree that At&t’s internet sucks. I have the highest speed available, and it’s still slow sometimes. SMH

    1. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOUR SON AND HIS TEAM!!!
    2. I doubt I would if it wasn’t necessary. Crimes like these definitely makes a person think twice about childcare period. 3. We switched to direct tv back in may and are very happy with it. We had comcast too.
